Talk:mouse potato

Good grief! This is actually a 'real' word at least on the internet, misspellings and all! I found about 20 or 30 hits on Google. There are far more hits on 'mouse potato' though...

Surely this should redirect to mouse potato as it is a misspeel. Ditto couch potato. -- SGB

It's in the Oxford English Dictionary, its my fault for the miss-spolling :-) I will change it. -fonzy

Interesting post from the ADS-L mailing list,

Someone wrote to me about the origins of the term "mouse potato." I thought I might as well share the response to the list:

I got it from Steve Cisler, who at the time, was Apple's librarian. He posted it on the Well BBS (in the Wired Conference's "Jargon Watch" topic). Here's the original post:

I really like Alice Kahn's term for the staff and readers of Wired:
  mouse potatoes.

Mouse potatoes is nice. If its Alice's coinage we should use it and credit her. (She apparently coined the word hippies, yes?)
